Our adventure begins at 8:00 in the morning when we pick you up from Fes. We'll start driving south toward the golden dunes of Merzouga, with some exciting stops along the way.
First, we'll visit Ifrane, a pretty town often called "Morocco's Switzerland" because of its cozy European-style buildings and cool mountain air. After that, we'll head to the Cedar Forest, where wild monkeys sometimes come to say hello!
Next, we'll cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, with their winding roads and amazing views. Around lunchtime, we'll stop in a small Berber town where you can try some local food and relax.
As we keep driving south, you'll see the landscape slowly change. By the time we reach Errachidia, the green mountains will give way to rocky desert views. One of the best stops is Ziz Valley – a surprise splash of green in the middle of the dry land, with thousands of palm trees and olive groves growing along the river.
Finally, as the sun starts to go down, we'll arrive in Merzouga, where the real desert adventure begins! The tall dunes here look like they're made of gold when the sunlight hits them.
The first day of travel mixes beautiful nature, interesting culture, and the excitement of watching Morocco's landscapes transform before your eyes. Every hour brings something new to see, from snowy mountains to desert oases, making the long drive feel like part of the fun!
