The trip begins with your arrival in Casablanca, where you can rest after the flight or take a short walk to see the city. The next day, you travel to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to visit the Kasbah of the Udayas, Hassan Tower, and the Royal Palace. From there, the journey continues north with a stop in the small seaside town of Asilah before reaching Tangier, a lively city that connects Africa and Europe. After exploring Tangier, you drive into the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, also known as the “Blue Pearl.” You spend a full day here walking through its blue streets, shopping in the markets, and enjoying the calm mountain views.
The route then takes you to Meknes, one of Morocco’s old imperial cities, and the Roman ruins of Volubilis before arriving in Fes. You spend a whole day discovering Fes, with its busy medina, the world’s oldest university, colorful tanneries, and craft shops. After Fes, you travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Azrou to see monkeys in the cedar forest and in Ifrane, a clean and green town often called “Little Switzerland.” The day ends in Midelt, a small town in the mountains. The next day, you pass through the Ziz Valley to Rissani, before arriving in Merzouga. From here, a camel ride takes you into the high dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you sleep in a desert camp under the stars.
The following day is spent exploring the desert area. You visit nomad families, learn about their lifestyle, and see abandoned villages before returning to Merzouga. The trip continues through Tinghir and the tall Todra Gorges, then along the Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses before arriving in Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert and famous for its film studios. From Ouarzazate, the road leads to Taroudant, a city often compared to Marrakech but smaller and quieter. The journey goes on to Sidi Ifni, a coastal town with Spanish-style buildings and wide beaches. Following the Atlantic coast, you pass through Agadir before reaching Taghazout, a fishing village that has become a favorite spot for surfers. From there, you continue to Essaouira, a historic port city with a relaxed atmosphere. You spend a full day exploring its medina, sea walls, and beach.
After Essaouira, the trip turns inland again to Marrakech, Morocco’s “Red City.” In the evening, the main square, Jemaa el-Fnaa, comes alive with food stalls, music, and a variety of performers. A full day is spent visiting Marrakech’s highlights, such as the Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, Majorelle Gardens, and the busy souks. One day is also set aside for an excursion to the Ouzoud Waterfalls, one of Morocco’s most beautiful natural sights. The journey ends back in Marrakech, where you take your flight home filled with memories of Morocco’s cities, mountains, desert, and coast.
