Start your exciting adventure from Marrakech at 7:00 a.m. We'll travel through the amazing Atlas Mountains, stopping now and then to take beautiful pictures and enjoy the views. One of our main stops is the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a special fortress from the 16th century that's considered a UNESCO World Heritage site. Many famous movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia were filmed here.
After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, you'll have some free time to enjoy a relaxed lunch. Our journey continues to Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Morocco," where we'll see famous movie studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. Next, we'll visit the lovely Rose Valley and Dades Valley, both known for their stunning natural beauty.
As the day ends, we'll settle down in the Dadès Gorges, where you'll enjoy a delicious dinner surrounded by tall cliffs and winding roads. Spending the night here will be peaceful and will get you ready for the next part of our unforgettable journey.
After breakfast, we will be heading to Tinghir to see the Todra Gorges, which are these impressive canyon-like formations created by nature. Then, we travel through the pretty south Saharan oasis with its green landscapes until we reach Erfoud.
From there, we continue to Merzouga, specifically a place called Erg Chebbi, known for its large sand dunes. When we get to the inn, you'll be greeted warmly with a cup of mint tea, which is a nice Moroccan tradition.
In the afternoon, we will have a special camel ride that takes you to the comfy tents where we'll sleep. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful views of the sand dunes and the colors of the sunset.
Dinner is next, offering a taste of Moroccan food. Afterward, you can enjoy a traditional Berber music show under the moon and stars. This whole experience combines nature, culture, and the magic of the desert at night.
To watch the stunning sunrise in the desert, you'll have to wake up early—about 30 minutes before the sun peeks over the horizon. After enjoying the sunrise, breakfast, and shower, we'll head back to Marrakech.
The drive back to Marrakech might be long, but it's filled with moments that color our journey in the desert. We'll make pit stops along the way for coffee breaks, lunch and there'll be tons of opportunities to take photos! Every break is a chance to capture the incredible views and moments that make this trip special.
We will be arriving in Marrakech by the end of the day or evening, depending on the stops and traffic.
The maximum group size is 8, so it's small. You won't be in a big group of more than 15, which can feel crowded. Our 3-day desert tour from Marrakech needs at least 2 people to start. In low season, you might be the only one, so you get a private tour for the regular price.
The tour starts from Marrakech at 8:00 in the morning. We start early as the journey to Dades, our first night's destination, takes approximately 6 hours, including stops along the way.
The meeting point for this tour is in front of Café du France in Jamaa el fna square. Our driver will be holding a sign with your name.
The tour includes a private room in a standard hotel in Dades and a private tent at the standard desert camp.
If you're looking for a fancier experience, you can upgrade your stay to luxury accommodations for an extra cost. This means more luxurious rooms and extra perks to make your trip even more special.
No matter what you choose, our tour promises a fantastic time, blending cultural desert adventure with cozy stays. So, get ready for an amazing journey, whether you prefer a comfy setup or want to add a touch of luxury to your desert escapade!
Yes, sandboarding in the dunes is included, but it's important to know that we do it while sitting on small dunes, not standing. Unlike snow, desert sand is hard, so it's easier to fall and get hurt. Safety is important to us, so while sandboarding is fun, you'll have to be careful.
The distance between Marrakech and Merzouga (Sahara desert) is 569 kilometers. Throughout our 3-day tour, we break up this drive. This way, we can enjoy the trip without hurrying. We'll stop at beautiful places and see interesting things along the way. Splitting the drive lets us take our time, so you can fully experience the diverse landscapes and exciting journey from Marrakech to stunning Merzouga.
Sure, you can bring all your luggage on the trip. During the camel ride and the night in the desert, if you upgrade to the luxury camp, your luggage goes there. If you pick the standard camp, just pack what you need for the night. The rest of your stuff will stay safe at our office in Merzouga.
Certainly, if you prefer not to ride camels, there are alternative options available for reaching the camp. You can reach the camp by car for free. Moreover, for an extra cost, you can also choose to reach the camp by quads (ATV) or dune buggies, offering alternative and exciting ways to get there.
